I've come to realise that growing up, there are some things that I can/will never understand, things that I don't(do) do, e.g. why do people* smoke, why do people club, why do people drink till they're drunk, why are people in relationships, why are people in love why do people buy branded goods, why do people not be in a relationship when they are so obviously in love with each other, why do they not do things when they know better, why do people skydive when they know they can possibly die, why do people go to religious places in hope of speaking to a higher power, why do people not talk to certain people, why do people think it's okay not to talk to certain people, why do people treat other people a certain way, why do people not sleep early at night when they know they need to be up early the next morning, why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why why???
Why do people do the things that they do?
*Note: Generalising specific individuals to people here, certain things at the top of my head, bugging me for some time .
Maybe I am trying to find my way out of the norm of this society, to be extra-ordinary, not doing the things they do, not that it makes me happy or unhappy. We all just want to be different, to stand out from the 6 billion people in this world, 6 million (& counting) in this tiny red dot, or maybe just a little something different from you and I, as simple as that. As long as I'm not doing what you're doing, as long as I'm 'better' than you, as long as I'm different, I'm cool.
But is it really that simple? What is the bigger picture here? Will I ever know the answer to the questions I asked myself?
